Alaska Airlines just added two warm-weather routes right before winter hits! Now, you can fly to two beautiful US beach destinations. They say many people want to relax and have fun in the sun when it’s cold outside, and these two new routes seem to confirm that.
Fun in the Sun in Hawaii
Kirsten Amrine is the vice president of revenue management and network planning for the airline, and she stated that people still strongly desire relaxing, warm destinations, especially as it gets colder. That’s part of the reason why the airline just kicked off the first-ever regular nonstop from Seattle/Everett to Honolulu, making Paine Field feel the Hawaiian love.
With the fresh Honolulu flights, Alaska Airlines is turning up the tropical vibes. In addition, there are six daily non-stop flights from the Seattle area to Oahu, as well as other Hawaiian flights from Anchorage, Seattle/Everett, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
New Routes Galore
Portland is in for a treat with new flights to Miami, making it the fourth Florida city non-stop flight from Portland. The others are Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa. The company is also launching a hot new flight to Nashville in March 2024, making it the 53rd destination from Portland.
But wait, there’s more! The airline will also be launching a new non-stop route from New York to Anchorage in June 2024. It may be long, but it’s worth it. We can’t wait to see what other new routes Alaska Airlines has in store in the future.
Lizzo Broke Down In Tears While Accepting Her First Emmy
During the Emmy Award ceremony that was staged at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the singer, rapper, songwriter, and actress, Lizzo got her first Emmy for her reality series – Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls. Her series was named an Outstanding Competition Program, beating competition like Nailed It!, The Amazing Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Voice, and Top Chef.
Lizzo Stunned the Crowd With a Tearful Speech
Lizzo took to the stage in a red tulle gown and asked the contestants from her series to join her from the audience. She then said that the trophy was nice but her emotion was for the people who were on the stage with her and the stories they shared. She added that while the stories themselves might not have been very unique, they never get the platform. Lizzo finished her speech with an urge to everyone to tell more stories.
Lizzo Praised the Rise of Inclusion in the Entertainment Industry
During her speech, Lizzo became tearful while she reflected on the advancement of inclusion and diversity within the entertainment industry. The 34-year-old shared how when she was a little girl, all she wanted to see was herself in the media, clarifying that she looked for someone fat like her, black like her, and beautiful like her. She then concluded that if she could go back and tell the little Lizzo something, it would be that she would see such a person but it would have to be her. Lizzo then concluded her speech by asking the crowd to make some noise for her big girls.
Lizzo has three Grammy awards under her belt and a chart-topping album. She got her big break with singer Prince, who co-signed her music and she even performed in his 2014 song, “Boy Trouble.” Since then, her climb to fame has been a chain of successes and her recent Emmy is just the latest addition to her long list of achievements.
